I purchased this item for my grand-daughter’s 6th birthday. She wanted a doll house that she could use when playing with her Barbie dolls. She shares a bedroom with her 4 yr. old sister so they have little room for large toys. This item closes up for conveinince of storage and the only thing that has caused some concern is that there are a few smaller pieces that her youngest sister-1 yr. old may get access to swallow.
From observing her play with it, she appears to be satisfied and can even carry it with her when spending time at my house. The price was much better than many of the others I reviewed.
Barbie is a hit! by ljrich
My daughter (6 year old) saw this at Target early in the Christmas season and went crazy! She called it a Barbie apartment. Since receiving this for Christmas she hasn’t stopped playing. It is very interactive -lots of sounds with all kinds of additional pieces. It also folds up for easy storage. The size is perfect not like the old Barbie house that was huge! I would recommend this toy if your child loves to use their imagination and pretend “house” with her Barbies.

Amazon was amazing. I was looking at the Barbie doll house that sells for approximately 100.00 and was not impressed with the reviews that it received. I did not want to spend all that money and not be happy with the product. I was surfing the web and accidently came upon this playset. I thought this is the right product for my 7 yr old daughter. Just right for the money. I was surprised to find that they were discontinuing this model. I surfed Kmart, Walmart and Target some had it and some didn’t. If the store had it they could not guarentee the shipping by Christmas. Not only did Amazon have it, but they told me exactly when I was going to receive it and I didn’t have to pay extra for speedy shipping. Next year I am going to buy all my gifts for Christmas from Amazon.

We bought our now five-year-old daughter this house for her birthday when she turned four, and she STILL loves playing with it. As she has grown older, she has gotten more adept at setting the table and chairs, arranging the flowers, putting Barbie on the toilet…Sorry for the TMI there, but my point is that this toy has grown along with her, and it’s just so cute, too! My favorite thing is that the whole house folds up and snaps shut for easy storage. I was a little concerned about where the furniture was going to go, but we have a plastic tub for all of that, and my daughter is very practiced at rounding all of the doodads up and putting them away. I HIGHLY recommend this toy for any Barbie fan!
